Travel Escorts must be dependable and responsible workers as well as properly supervise children in their direct care while reunifying them (e.
g.
an airport, flight, etc).
Travel Escorts must ensure to follow program policies as well as adapt to an on-call schedule based on program needs as well as keep the UCs best interests in mind and communicate frequently with their department lead about the status of each UCs reunification.
Other duties may apply aside from those listed in the Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the job role.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES o N/A SPECIALIZATIONS o Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills; written and verbal (English & Spanish) o Critical thinking and problem-solving skills o Computer literacy and knowledge of Microsoft Windows o Maintain appropriate boundaries o Work effectively and without intensive supervision both independently PRIMARY DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS o o Able to maintain a flexible work schedule (due to working an unknown amount of hours during flights, evacuations, etc).
o Able to obtain or currently possess a Drivers License.
o Able to be on-call including holidays, weekends, and on your projected day off in case of a flight, program emergency, evacuation, etc.
o Able to abide by the program's Social Media policy even when there's limited to no supervision from a supervisor while on a flight.
o Able to submit paperwork on-time and not miss any signatures from the child's sponsor.
o Able to communicate immediately with Lead in the case of any unexpected circumstance.
o Able to log information accurately, efficiently and properly (only documenting in English and quoting what was said by the child, in any given situation where the child is on an observation, sleep, water or behavioral log, etc).
o Able to direct any media, photographers or news channel personnel to the proper entity whether at the airport or en-route to program.
o Able to recognize which necessary documents are missing from the UC's NTA during and prior to a reunification.
o Ensuring not to ever leave a child unsupervised or unattended at any point (whether at program, leaving program, at the airport, etc).
o Assist the case management team when needed with flights and or file maintenance.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES 1.
Education /Background:
o Minimum GED or High School Diploma.
o Required:
minimum of at least 1 year of travel experience with UAC.
o Required:
Texas Drivers License Language Skills Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, employee guidebook, program policies, etc.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Strong communication skills are important.
Able to speak English and Spanish.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations o Valid Texas Driver's License with an excellent driving record o CPR/First Aid, operate up to a 15-passenger transit van, receive required training and certification for Handle with Care which is a physical restraining course, able to receive TBRI, able to manage program software, and other DFPS mandated training (paid-trainings offered on the job) Other requirements:
Effective January 3, 2022, all CPLC Employees and all Service Providers, are required to be Fully Vaccinated against COVID-19.
Newly hired employees, who are not Fully Vaccinated at the time of hire, are expected to begin a vaccination series immediately upon hire.
CPLC recognizes medical and religious exemptions to the COVID-19 vaccination requirement, in accordance with applicable law and upon approval by CPLC.
However, any person approved for an exemption, without exception, is subject to masking, weekly COVID-19 testing at their expense, and other requirements established by CPLC from time to time.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
